Erica Hernandez, the missing Houston mother‘s car has been found. Hernandez, 40, was last seen April 18th leaving a friend’s house. Her last reported communication was a text that said she was only minutes from arriving home. She went missing over three weeks ago now.
Authorities found Hernandez’s car submerged in a Pearland pond located at Reflection Bay and N. Clear Lake, in Shadow Creek Ranch. The license plate matched that of Hernandez’s. The black 2020 GMC Acadia was pulled from the pond with a body found inside. The body is that of Erica Hernandez.
According to an ABC News article, the FBI told Pearland police to search the pond after finding a “location that was consistent with a vehicle striking the curb and entering a body of water at the end of the road,” said Houston Police Department Commander Kevin Deese. The article goes on to reveal Hernandez’s car has damage consistent with this incident.
Houston Police Department continues to work with the Pearland PD in investigating the cause of Hernandez’s death.
Hernandez’s family has several questions surrounding her death. Hernandez was found 10 miles away from her neighborhood. Her family finds this curious after she reportedly said she was only minutes away from her home.
Sister Ashley Hernandez told the Houston Chronicle, “We’re still looking for answers, and we want to let people know that this is not something that she would have done on her own will.”
