Police called a manhunt after a man brutally battered a victim in a CVS store during an alleged hate crime.
Surveillance footage shows the man in a white t-shirt enter the CVS store at Five Pennsylvania Plaza, Manhattan, and strike the victim on the back of the head and neck. According to the New York Police Department, the attack occurred at 19:00 on April 24.
According to Pink News, the suspect allegedly shouted homophobic slurs during the assault before fleeing. According to NBC News New York, the unidentified suspect fled on foot down 34th Street towards 9th Avenue. The NYPD posted the surveillance footage to Twitter on April 27 in hopes of catching the suspect.
The victim, 24, suffers no serious physical injuries and declined any medical attention at the scene.
