The remains of Linda Stoltzfoos, who went missing ten months ago, have been found in Pennsylvania.
The district attorney’s office said the remains were found in a rural area in the eastern part of Lancaster county. Stoltzfoos, 18, was last seen on June 21 walking home from church in Lancaster County.
In July, Justo Smoker, 35, was arrested on kidnapping and false imprisonment charges after witnesses came forward saying they had seen Stoltzfoos in his car. As detectives investigated further, they obtained surveillance video that police said “depicts the abduction” of Stoltzfoos on Beechdale Road, which would have been part of her walk home, and they matched the red Kia Rio vehicle seen in the video to the suspect.
In December, he was charged with murder after investigators found Stoltzfoos’ buried clothes with Smoker’s DNA on it.
Smoker is currently being held at Lancaster County Prison without bail and has pleaded not guilty on all charges.
