Davenport Police announced that human remains found last week have been confirmed as belonging to 10-year-old Breasia Terrell.
Breasia’s remains were found around DeWitt, Iowa on March 22. Police say they are investigating this case as a homicide.
Breasia was reported missing on July 10, 2020. An Amber Alert was quickly issued listing Henry Earl Dinkins, 47, as her alleged abductor. Dinkins is a registered sex offender and the father of Breasia’s half-brother. She was staying with her half-brother at Dinkins’ home when she disappeared.
Police have now come forward and named Dinkins as a person of interest. He is currently in jail on unrelated sex offender violations.
“It’s tragic. This news is heartbreaking to both Breasia’s family and our Davenport community,” said Davenport Police Chief Paul Sikorski. “We know our community is anxious for information regarding the investigation and any charges that may be forthcoming.”
