Pasadena police have arrested and charged a 35-year-old man with capital murder for fatally shooting his 6-year-old relative on Friday.
Police responded to calls about a shooting at an apartment complex around 11:30 Friday morning. Upon arrival at the scene, the suspect, identified as Raymeon Means, was arrested and the victim, Laurionne Walker, was transported to hospital where she later died.
Investigators have said that Means’ motive for the shooting was an argument he and the child got into over spilled water. Means is related to the victim in some way although their exact relationship has not been revealed to the public.
“I’m at a loss for words right now,” Earline House, Laurionne’s grandmother told reporters. “My granddaughter was still a baby. She got shot twice in the chest this morning.”
