Police charged a Malaga couple with the alleged kidnapping of a Swedish man.
On Sunday 14, the Malaga National Police arrested a couple for kidnapping a young Swedish man. The couple allegedly met the man on the street, where they then invited him to their home with the promise of a party. According to Euro Weekly News, the couple consist of a 26-year-old Moroccan man and a 27-year Spanish woman.
Reports state that the couple beat the victim. Then they called the Swedish man’s family to demand payment of 3,000 euros for the release of their relative. Later a neighbour reported the incident after calling the emergency services at 04:00 in response to the sounds of cries for help. Police patrols checked out the noise at a property near Victoria Street, Malaga. Investigating officers found the injured man with a bloody head and a leg wound.
The female assailant opened the door of the property to police and reportedly acted as if nothing was wrong. However, police soon entered the apartment after hearing screams from one of the rooms. According to Euro News Weekly, police found the male assailant holding the victim, who was surrounded by a pool of blood.
Police arrested the couple, who are facing charges of suspicion of kidnap with violence. The victim remains in hospital, where he is recovering from numerous injuries.
