The FBI released additional videos of the suspect who planted pipe bombs the night before the storm on the U.S. Capitol.
The videos feature the suspect stopping before the Republican and Democratic National Committee offices in Washington D.C. The suspect wore a gray sweatshirt, surgical mask, black pants and carried a backpack containing the explosives. According to NBC, the suspect planted the bombs between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
The police discovered the pipe bombs 90 minutes before rioters stormed the Capitol. The RNC and DNC offices are located a few blocks from the city. Former Capitol chief of police Steven Sund believes the purpose of the bombs were to create a diversion and draw out the police, allowing the rioters to get in.
According to the New York Post, the FBI identified the suspect’s distinctive shoes as Nike Air Max Speed Turf sneakers. There is a $100,000 reward for anyone who can identify the suspect and offer further information vital to the investigation.
