Police have arrested four men on suspicion of murder after a man was found with multiple fatal injuries in Tilehurst, Reading.

On Feb 6, police responded to reports on an altercation in Dulnan Close at 18:55. Neighbours on the street claim that the victim succumbed to his injuries during a fight.  According to Thames Valley Police, officers found a 26-year-old man suffering multiple injuries. The victim later died as a result of his injuries.

On Feb 7, over 20 officers attended the scene to investigate. Police cordoned off large sections of the estate as the murder investigation is underway.

People living in the estate of Tilehurst are shocked by the incident as it is usually a quiet area. One witness, Mark Cannon, 53, claims he heard a bang but didn’t think anything of it.

According to the BBC, police hold two 25-year-olds, a 22-year-old, and a 16-year-old for their involvement in the crime. Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, of Thames Valley Police, believes it is likely that the victim and attackers were known to each other. Police are currently looking for a red Range Rover Evoque that drove away from the crime scene between 19:00 and 21:00. A Section 60 order is in place, allowing the police greater stop and search powers to prevent any further violence.

Police are yet to name the victim, but his next of kin have been informed. However, formal identification and a post-mortem are yet to take place.
