Two FBI agents were killed this morning (2/2/2021) around 6 a.m. and three others were wounded while trying to serve a search warrant at a home in Sunrise, Florida, in a child pornography case. Two of the wounded agents were transported to the hospital and are in stable condition. The suspect is dead but it is reported that it is not clear if he turned a gun to himself or an FBI agent shot him.

Aerial video showed two bodies draped with American flags being brought into the Broward Medical Examiner’s office around 10 a.m. A procession of officers could also be seen saluting the fallen agents outside of the building.

The FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) President Brian O’Hare released a statement after the incident:

“The FBI Agents Association mourns the loss of two FBI Special Agents killed in the line of duty today.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these Agents and with the Agents wounded in today’s incident,” he said.

“These Agents were working to protect the most vulnerable in our society. FBIAA stands with the Agents’ families and pledges our support to them during this difficult time. ”
