The Florida teen was arrested Saturday for threatening a driver with a gun, and faces additional charges of aggravated manslaughter for trying to become “TikTok famous.”
The victim flagged a Florida Highway Patrol car after Zachary Thomas Latham, 18, confronted him on the highway around 11 p.m. The trooper spotted Latham’s car and pulled him over for questioning. In Latham’s car was a black Airsoft BB gun resembling a real AK-47, according to Wink News.
Latham was arrested for felony charges of aggravated assault for threatening the victim and intending to hit the victim’s car. However, investigators found that Latham was awaiting trial in New Jersey for allegedly stabbing his neighbor, William Durham Sr., 51.
The Durham family and Latham were involved in a long dispute documented on TikTok. The Durham family accuses Latham of killing William Sr. to become TikTok famous, according to The New York Times. On May 4, 2020, the culmination of the feud resulted in the death of William Sr. in front of Latham’s home.
Latham is booked in the Lee County Jail with a $40,000 bond.
