A Kansas City woman has been charged with second-degree murder after allegedly tracking down and killing her brother’s suspected murderer.

Police say Tityana Coppage, 21, followed Keith Lars, 36, to a parking lot where she shot at him multiple times. He suffered from gunshot wounds to the leg and chest and died before arriving to hospital.

Lars had been suspected of killing Coppage’s 16-year-old brother, Jason Ugwuh, in a shooting on January 10.

Ugwuh was a junior at Hogan Preparatory Academy and a standout basketball player.

This tragedy comes only a few years after Ugwuh and Coppage’s 9-year-old brother and 8-year-old cousin were shot and killed while sleeping in their home in 2016. Police believe that the crime was targeted but that the two children were not the intended victims. The case remains unsolved.

Coppage allegedly killed Lars on January 13, just three days after her brother’s murder.

Police say they were able to track down a black Ford Escape that was seen on video surveillance at the crime scene, which led them to Coppage. She admitted to firing at Lars, but alleges that it was in self defense after he shot first.

Coppage is being held on $200,000 bail. Since learning of this story, rappers 42 Dugg and DaBaby have offered to help pay her bail. On Instagram, Dugg said: “I got the 20 thousand if they can get her out on ten percent tell her people get with me.” DaBaby then replied, “I match u a dub.”
