When playing a board game with friends and family, do things ever get heated? Feelings hurt? Well, this Florida man couldn’t let it go.

On a June afternoon in 2007, Mark Allen played Yahtzee with some of his friends: a guy, Reuban Barnett, and his girlfriend, Edith Elliot. After getting into a passionately heated argument, Edith stormed away into the bedroom. Reuban followed her in to comfort her, but Mark just couldn’t let it go. He kicked in the door, argued with Reuban, and stabbed him twice.

Allen was charged with second-degree murder and was being held without bond. He now resides in the Hillsborough County Jail.

Obviously, this game got way out of hand and was overexaggerated. No matter how angry you feel during a game, whether the other person is winning or cheating their way through, that doesn’t mean you can lash out physically. If you only see red while playing a board game, it would be in your best interest to reconsider a different way to have fun.
