A newly-released audio recording reveals that prosecutors are planning on charging Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell with conspiracy to commit murder.

“I’m going to tell you right now we are going to be filing conspiracy to commit murder charges against both Chad and Lori,” said Madison County Prosecuting Attorney Rob Wood during a conversation with Vallow’s sister, Summer Shiflet. “And we aren’t shy about that.”

Vallow and Daybell are in jail on numerous charges relating to the deaths of Vallow’s children, Tylee Ryan, 16, and Joshua “J.J.” Vallow, 7, after their remains were found on Daybell’s Salem, Idaho property in June.

Daybell’s property where JJ and Tylee’s remains were discovered.

Vallow’s charges include desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, resisting or obstructing officers, criminal solicitation to commit a crime, contempt of court, and willful disobedience of court process or order.

Daybell has been charged with two felony counts of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence, and two felony counts of destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence.

They have both pleaded not guilty.
Up until now, the two have not been accused of harming Tylee and Ryan.
‘What’s the weight of [the conspiracy to commit murder charges] in terms of, is that a death penalty thing?’ Shiflet asked Wood, to which he replied, ‘It is a death penalty case in Idaho.’
