Suspect at Large After Claiming to Be Police in Home-Invasion Robbery

One man is in custody while a woman remains at large after a home-invasion style robbery in London, Ontario committed on Sunday night.

According to reports from London police, a 39-year-old man was asleep in his apartment on King street when he was awoken by a knock at his door around 11:10 pm. When he didn’t answer, the two people behind the door falsely announced themselves as police and “forced their way into the residence armed with a hatchet and a pipe.” 

Police say the resident of the apartment was robbed of some personal property and assaulted, resulting in serious injuries. Around 11:20 pm, he was able to escape and call the police.

24-year-old Bryan McNair was arrested and police are still in pursuit of 25-year-old Josafina Maloney (pictured above). Both suspects are from London and are acquaintances of the victim. The pair have been charged with robbery with violence, aggravated assault, break and enter, robbery, and impersonating a police officer.
