Authorities arrested a Las Vegas woman on Monday after running over her ex-boyfriend with her car. The tragic event took place on Tuesday, November 24 at 9:43 pm when officers and paramedics arrived at a condominium complex at 4110 Sanderling Circle, near West Desert Inn Road and South Arville Street.
According to The Las Vegas Review-Journal officials found 42-year-old James Dutter on the ground surrounded by a pool of his blood. While James was conscious, he had no sensation in his legs or his left arm.
Reportedly, James had told a paramedic his girlfriend, 41-year-old Maylien Doppert, had run him over with her car because he wanted to break up with her. Afterward, he told police that he had moved in with his girlfriend after dating for a couple of months.
Unfortunately, the relationship didn’t last, and James decided it was time to pack his belongings and leave her residence, states Fox5Vegas. The incident unfolded when Maylien came home and found her boyfriend packing his belongings into his car.
After feeling reassured, Maylien left her ex-boyfriend to finish packing. However, instead of heading back into the residence, Maylien got into her car and tried to run him over while his back was turned.
According to authorities, James then threw a 20-inch TV towards the vehicle to avoid being hit. Unfortunately, Maylien continued to accelerate her car and hit James, sending him flying across the street.
Examiners confirmed that James had died from blunt force trauma. After his death was ruled a homicide, investigators arrested Mayliene Dupport and booked her at the Clark County Detention Center on Monday.
