An Ohio ex-cheerleader charged with killing her newborn baby is released early from probation on Tuesday. Brooke Skylar Richardson, now a 21-year-old woman, was sentenced to three years of probation after burying her newborn baby in her parents’ backyard in May 2017.

According to Dayton Daily News, Brooke only served 14 months of probation before being released. It all came to a head when Brooke, then an 18-year-old high school senior, decided to hide her pregnancy from family and friends.

The teenager ended up giving birth to a full-term baby girl she named Annabelle. Brooke, filled with panic and terror after giving birth, buried her newborn daughter in her parent’s backyard.

Although she claimed that her daughter was stillborn, they charged her with murdering and burying the infant, reports The New York Post. Later, the jury acquitted her of murder but convicted the teen mom of abusing the corpse.

Dayton Daily News reports that Brooke is now attending college while working at the Rittgers and Rittgers law office in Lebanon in the hopes of becoming an attorney soon.
