A second teen has been arrested and charged with her classmate’s murder on Monday in Newark, Delaware. Annika Stalczynski, 17, was arrested in her home after a New Castle County Grand Jury indicted her with first-degree murder.
The horror unfolded after 17-year-old Madison Sparrow, a junior in Newark Charter High School didn’t come home from shopping with a friend on October 2. After her mother reported her missing around 8:30 pm, officials found her body the next day.
According to Delaware Online, family and friends told investigators that Madison had gone to an area where ex-boyfriend Noah Sharp was located. Investigators arrived at the secluded spot in Maclary Elementary School, where they found her body along with a metal baseball bat and blood stains splattered on the scene.
The autopsy later revealed that Madison had died from blunt force trauma to her body. Police believe that both Annika and Noah lured Madison to the wooded area, ambushed her, and killed her, reports ABC 6.
According to People.com, police arrested Noah on October 5 after he admitted to beating his ex-girlfriend to death with a baseball bat. Today, Annika faces charges of first-degree murder, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony, and first-degree conspiracy.
She is being held in juvenile detention with a $1 million cash bail.
