Authorities are investigating the Saturday morning shooting deaths of a Missouri couple. Police believe they were targeted and the person is still at large, according to PEOPLE.
Willard Police Chief Tom McClain held a press conference Monday updating the investigation into the deaths of Alex Chute, 28, and Brianna Sproul, 30. Detectives do not believe their deaths were a murder-suicide.
Police were called to the home early Saturday, finding Chute and Sproul dead on the front porch from gunshot wounds, according to KTLO.
McClain said he could not comment yet on motive, but is sure the couple was not involved.
“While I am not willing to talk about particular suspects or motives or things of that nature, we are, as I said earlier, confident that we are on the right track,” McClain said.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Willard Police Department at (417) 742-5341.
Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched online to help Chute’s family in the aftermath of his killing.
