Two brothers, who were arrested on November 14, have now confessed to the murder of 21-year-old Floridian Danne Frazier.
Frazier disappeared on November 4, shortly after leaving his job at the Publix warehouse in Lakeland, Florida. According to police, Frazier was last seen around 2:20 a.m. at a nearby gas station.
On November 6, Flagler County police spotted Frazier’s vehicle being driven by two young men. Arrest reports state that the alleged driver of the vehicle, Jo Lobato, had run away before police reached the car. However, police did speak with Angel Lobato, who was still sitting in the passenger seat. Deputies released Angel, but held the car as evidence.
On November 10, Frazier’s body was found in an orange grove in Lake Wales. He had been beaten and stabbed before his body was dumped in the remote grove and buried beneath underbrush and a log.
On November 14, The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that two brothers, Angel and Jo Lobato, were arrested after receiving a tip regarding their whereabouts. Angel, 18, and Jo, 19, have now been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
While in custody, the two brothers confessed to the brutal murder and even bragged to law enforcement about what they had done. In a press conference on Monday, Sheriff Grady Judd said that, “when we interviewed them, they were pure evil in the flesh. They bragged about it. They talked about how they have street cred. They have their stripes. They be respected on the streets because they done this murder.”
Judd also revealed that the brothers had been planning Frazier’s murder for about three weeks and had posted statements about what they did on social media. Judd said that Jo was allegedly going to meet Frazier to have sex and was successful in having Frazier pick him up in downtown Central Park in Winter Haven. The victim and Jo drove together to Lake Howard, where Angel was hiding in the parking lot with a baseball bat.
After the brothers killed Frazier, they drove about 30 minutes to Lake Wales to dump his body. Later in the morning, Angel and Jo drove Frazier’s car to pick up Scott Adren Engle, 19. The brothers asked Engle to use Frazier’s debit card to access cash for them.
Engle was also arrested on November 14, but is not being charged in connection with the killing. Instead, he is facing charges for being an accessory after the fact of a capital felony, tampering with physical evidence, grand theft of a motor vehicle, possessing a stolen credit or debit card, and attempting to use another’s identification.
