A British nurse appeared in court charged with eight counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder, according to CNN.
The murder investigation began after a number of baby deaths occurred in a hospital in Cheshire in northwestern England.
Lucy Letby, 30 was previously arrested twice in 2018 and 2019 in connection with the investigation into deaths at the neo-natal unit, according to BBC.
The charges relate to baby deaths and non-fatal collapses from 2015-2016.
“The Crown Prosecution Service has authorized Cheshire Police to charge a healthcare professional with murder in connection with an ongoing investigation into a number of baby deaths at the Countess of Chester Hospital,” said the Cheshire Police in a statement.
Police said that all parents of the babies involved are being kept up to date on developments.
