Dr. Javaid Perwaiz was found guilty Monday of 52 charges involving falsifying symptoms for ovarian cancer and other women’s health issues so patients would require more medical attention. Perwaiz made the victims believe if they didn’t go through surgery, they would be putting their health at risk so that he could make money from unnecessary procedures.

Perwaiz previously had been charged with tax evasion, other forms of fraud, and identity theft. He now faces a maximum of 465 years in prison. Perwaiz’s sentencing is set for 2021 March 31.
