Man Accused Of Murder Released on Ankle Monitoring

James McGhee was released from Lake County Jail on home monitoring, he was arrested and accused on August 2019 with first degree murder of Sidne-Nichole Buchanan.

He is also currently under probation for the 2017 kidnapping and beating of his then pregnant with quadruplet girlfriend in which the beating caused one of the three babies survived.

According to Chicago Tribune.com, Buchanan was last seen at Tinley Park in Cary, Indiana on July 27, 2019 after a concert with McGhee. He took Buchannan to his apartment where the authorities believe he committed the crime by beating her to death then took her body to an Thornton-Lansing Road Nature Preserve in unincorporated Cook County in Illinois where he left her. Buchanan’s body was found on August 12, 2019.

The reason for his release to ankle monitoring in home confinement due to Indiana’s Criminal Rule 4, “requires defendants to be released from jail if a trial is pushed back more than 180 countable days, or six months, unless it’s due to the defendant’s delays or a backed-up court calendar,” stated in the Chicago Tribune article.

McGhee’s murder Pretrial hearing is set next year on January 20. His trial being to set on February 22.
