Prosecutors are currently seeking the death penalty for Patricia Ripley who drowned her 9-year-old with autism back in May. Ripley initially called 911 saying her son had been kidnapped, but security footage caught her pushing her son into a canal where he later drowned.

Ripley is now charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, aggravated child abuse, and filing a fake police report. She currently awaits trial in prison and could possibly face the death penalty.
