Two 9-year-old girls are stabbed to death by their father in a murder-suicide on Wednesday, October 7, in Placentia, California. Police received a call at 12:38 am on Wednesday, from the mother reporting that her husband had stabbed their two 9-year-old daughters in the home.
Officials arrived at the residence in the 400 block of East Swanson Avenue to find the two 9-year-old twins stabbed to death in the living room, reports CBS Los Angeles. The father, 41-year-old Timothy Takehara, was found dead in a grass area across the residence. He was pronounced dead from self-inflicting stab wounds.
Investigators believe that Takehara stabbed his two daughters before taking his own life in a murder-suicide on Wednesday night. According to ABC7, police had previously visited their residence in September 2019 after neighbors reported two adults arguing. Although, officials didn’t report any injuries or make any arrests at home.
Police state that the mother and grandmother of the two 9-year-old twins were inside the residence at the time of the murders. They are not sure if they heard screams or witnessed the attack, but are planning to interview them.
According to The New York Post, investigators have not released any further information involving the horrific slayings of two 9-year-old girls. They encourage anyone with additional information to call the Placentia Police Department at (714) 993-8164 or contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
