Six weeks after being shot in the back by Kenosha, Wisconsin police, Jacob Blake has been released from a Milwaukee hospital.

According to Blake’s attorney, Patrick Cafferty, the 29-year-old is currently paralyzed from the waist down and has been transferred to “a spinal injury rehabilitation center in Chicago.”

In August, Blake was shot multiple times in front of his three children during an altercation with the police. Patrick Salvi Jr., another family attorney, confirmed that Blake suffered injuries to his kidney, liver, spinal cord, and arm.

Back in August, Salvi stated that Blake, “had a bullet go through some or all of his spinal cord, at least one bullet. He has holes in his stomach. He had to have nearly his entire colon and small intestines removed.”

Upon regaining consciousness in the hospital in August, Blake’s father said that his son’s first question was why he had been shot so many times. Six weeks later, police have still not been able to provide an explicit answer.

The officer that shot Blake, Rusten Sheskey, has been placed on administrative leave. Two other officers that were present at the scene of Blake’s shooting, Vincent Arenas and Brittany Meronek, are also on administrative leave. No other developments have been made in the case.
