A Michigan man was fatally shot Sunday morning after he was involved in a line cutting dispute outside of a popular haunted house.

Douglas Albert Reese, 29, and his girlfriend were waiting in line to enter the Erebus Haunted Attraction in Pontiac when a male suspect ahead of them refused to move. According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect accused Reese of attempting to cut him in line.

After a brief exchange between Reese and the suspect, Reese told his girlfriend that he was going to his vehicle. Reese and the suspect headed separately toward the parking lot, then witnesses reported hearing shots fired.

Reese was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital after he was struck in the side, neck and chest. He died from his injuries after his arrival.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office stated that the suspect was wearing an orange sweatshirt and jeans at the time of the shooting. It has also been reported by witnesses that a blue sedan quickly fled the scene shortly after the shooting.

Reese’s sister spoke with FOX2 News, pleading anyone who may have information about the shooting to report it. “It’s not snitching, you’re telling on somebody who’s a murderer,” she assured.

If anyone knows anything about the case, they are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK-UP.
