An investigation is underway for the disappearance of 21-year-old Juan Carlos Hernandez in South Los Angeles, California. ABC7 explains that Juan had been working as a clerk at the VIP Collective, a cannabis dispensary on Western Avenue and 81st. On Tuesday night, Juan closed the shop around 10 pm. and said goodbye to the security guards that worked alongside him. They would be the last people to see Juan on Tuesday, September 22.
According to Yajaira Hernandez, she didn’t become concerned for her son until she woke up on Wednesday morning, and found his bed empty, reports KTLA5. After realizing that Juan never came home, Yajaira reported him missing. According to MSN, on Thursday, around 3:20 am, police found Yajaira’s 2020 Honda Civic at Figueroa St and 64th Avenue. Yajaira states that Juan would frequently borrow her car and last saw him driving it to work. Investigators discovered the car undamaged, with Juan’s belongings still inside. According to several witnesses, the car had been running for a few hours before officials could locate it.
Since his disappearance on Tuesday night, Juan’s family and friends have been posting flyers around the South Los Angeles area. As of today, Juan’s whereabouts are still unknown. His family hasn’t received a text or phone call from Juan since. According to MSN, Juan is described as Latino, 6’2, weighs 225 pounds, has black hair, and wears glasses.
