Adam Hollingsworth, better known as “Dreadhead Cowboy”, was arrested Monday after riding his horse NuNu on the Dan Ryan expressway in Chicago. Hollingsworth was protesting gun violence against children and live streaming the event on FaceBook.

Police asked multiple times for Hollingsworth to exit the expressway due to the traffic caused by his demonstration but Hollingsworth refused and continued to ride for about 30 minutes. After Hollingsworth exited he was arrested and then charged with reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, and criminal trespass.

Hollingsworth now faces a felony charge for endangering his horse which police report was dehydrated and cut on the legs due to the demonstration. Hollingsworth denies these accusations. NuNu was taken to an animal rescue shelter for medical evaluation.
