Former U.S. Solider William Emmett LeCroy, 50, was executed by lethal injection on September 22, 2020 at 9:06 p.m. ET. LeCroy was charged for the rape and murder of a 30-year-old Georgia nurse and blamed the victim for performing witchcraft and placing a spell on him twenty years before he committed the crime.
According to CNN.com, the murder occurred back in 2001 during his supervised probation after he served 10 years at the State and Federal prison years for child molestation, statutory rape, burglary and aggravated assault.
LeCroy broke into Joann Lee Tiesler’s home while she was away in Gilmer, Georgia. Once she returned home, He attacked and murdered her then stole her vehicle and drove to the Canadian border where he was caught.
He was found guilty and sentenced to death on 2004 by the U.S. District Court of Northern District of Georgia.
LeCroy was the 6th person executed after the Justice Department ended the 17 years pause on death penalty under the Trump administration.
