Ohio family found dead in apparent murder suicide
Father is a suspect in the murder suicide of his family. Police make a grim discovery on Sunday, August 30 in an apparent family murder-suicide. The parents were Regina, 58, and John Tobin, 57, who lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Their kids were Natalie and Graham Tobin, who were both 15-years-old at the time of their death. According to Beaconjournal.com, the Tobins were well-known philanthropists in the community. After working in Hudson, Ohio, Tobin and his wife settled down in Shaker Heights, a wealthy area. At the time of their deaths, Natalie was a freshman at the Laurel School and Graham was about to start school at Gilmour Academy, reports Cleveland.com
Father is suspect in Murder Suicide
The Beaconjournal.com reports, that Tobin sent an email at 9:00am on Sunday, August 30 to his father Phil. Tobin apologized to his father for his actions. Then, he instructed him to call the police. Afterwards, Tobin would let police know where to find the house key. Finally, Tobin told his father to reassure officials that it was safe for them to come into the house. According to News5Cleveland, Tobin’s father called the police after receiving his son’s email. He realized that his son was going to commit suicide. The NYdailynews.com reports, that around 2:20pm on Sunday, police went to the residence to do a welfare check. Investigators would find the family deceased.
According to Kiro7, Tobin had currently lost his job and his family dog had just died. His father told investigators that he was dealing with depression during this time. He was not treated for his mental illness. Ultimately, the autopsy revealed that Regina, Natalie, and Graham had been killed by homicide. Although, the medical examiner hasn’t made the manner of John Tobin’s death public, states the NYdailynews.com. The investigators also stated that there was no forced sign of entry. According to Beaconjournal.com, police believe that John Tobin killed his wife Regina and his children, Natalie and Graham before killing himself, in a murder-suicide. As of today, the police has no further suspects.
