Two North Texas men are facing charges for child exploitation crimes. David Pettigrew, a 48-year-old pastor, and Chad Michael Rider have been charged on Sept. 1 for conspiring to sexually exploit children. Pettigrew faces additional charges for transporting child pornography.

According to, referrals were sent by electronic surveillance providers and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to law enforcement. The referrals identified a user who uploaded suspected child pornography to online platforms.

On Aug. 6, Homeland Security Investigation agents issued search warrants for Pettigrew’s home. Furthermore, agents searched the Denison Church of the Nazarene, the church where Pettigrew was a pastor. Investigators found, “a number of children were surreptitiously photographed in private locations or outside of the presence of their parents,” according to

Pettigrew and Rider face 15 to 30 years in prison if convicted.
