A true crime show hosted by a member of New Kids on the Block? This might sound like your 90s fantasy that is too good to be true, but you are wrong! Donnie Wahlberg hosts HLN’s “Very Scary People”, a show that revisits the twisted lives of some of the most frightening, diabolical characters in recent history. The first season of Very Scary People covers some heavy hitting cases with John Wayne Gacy, Charles Manson, Eileen Wuornos, and more. The second season starts off with a bang covering David Berkowitz’s reign of terror over NYC from 1976-1977. David, also known as Son of Sam, used a large caliber revived in eight different shootings in various neighborhoods around New York. The detectives who worked the Son of Sam case discuss the investigation, the clues, and how David got away with his crimes for a year in the first episode of Very Scary People. How did he get away with it? What clues did investigators miss? The show really does a great job of diving into the details of his crimes, the evidence, and how the police used the letters he sent to detectives to put all of the pieces together.
The second season of Very Scary People airs this Sunday night (July 12) at 9 ET/PT. Be sure to tune in to make your 90s true crime come true!
