A Florida man is facing a slew of charges, including two counts of felony murder, after allegedly killing his girlfriend and her lover while he was out on bond in relation to a manslaughter charge.
Kenyatta Bellamy, 50, is alleged to have used a hammer and a knife to kill his girlfriend and her lover before setting their Davenport home ablaze on Friday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release issued over the weekend. Following his arrest, he was charged with two counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted felony murder, one count of arson, and one count of tampering with evidence.
Authorities responded to the home at around 10 p.m. on Friday night and found a fire in the master bedroom that had put itself out, as well as two deceased individuals with injuries suggesting that they’d sustained physical trauma, according to the release. There was blood in the home and first responders with Polk Fire Rescue, as well as responding deputies, found a gas can at the scene and said they could smell gasoline.
